Artist Bio:

Raised on a small farm in southern Saskatchewan, Voss began his journey in music at the age of 8 when he picked up his Dad’s old dobro and has been following in the footsteps of legendary troubadours like Steve Earle, Charlie Major and Bruce Springsteen ever since.

To date Voss has released 3 albums and 1 single, garnering a Western Canadian Music Awards Producer of the Year nomination for debut EP ‘Hillbilly Storybook’ in 2008, followed up by his ‘Show ‘em Who’s Voss’ album in 2012, landing him a Saskatchewan Country Music Roots Album Award and chart action for 5 singles on Canadian Country radio with ‘Playing For Keeps’ peaking at #51 on the Billboard Country Top 100. The album received international airplay leading Voss to two overseas tours; playing shows in Western Europe, Colombia and Mexico.

Voss's 3rd album, ‘Come Along With Me’ released on March 20th, 2020 has garnered 6 SCMA awards, was voted Sask Music’s #2 album in 2020, achieved top 10 Mediabase chart success with 3 singles and his re-make of Murray McLaughlan's 'Farmer Song' with Darlene Tuleta and Canadian Hall of Famer Charlie Major was viewed over 150K times. In October of 2022, Voss released the poignant, self-penned single ‘A Letter to Dad’, a deeply personal song contemplating the future of his family’s farm as it reached the centennial milestone. ‘A Letter To Dad’ was awarded music video of the year by the Saskatchewan Country Music Awards in 2023.

2023 and ’24 were JJ’s busiest years on the road to date performing over 130 shows, both solo and backed by his ‘Damn Good Band’. His latest release entitled ‘I Wanna Go Home’ released in late October 2024 has helped to continue the momentum as JJ continues to work hard at creating heartfelt music and growing his fanbase.
